Henrietta's notebook.
I shall post whatever I see fit to post, whether it be snippets of wisdom, self-authored stories, or just random tidbits of pointless information.
My story, ninth installment.
Slowly, Henrietta inched the door open, and peeked out into the foreboding hallway. She was at the end of a long stretch, apparantly the last room connected to this hallway. She stepped forward as she tried to get a better look, and heard a whoosh of air as everything went dark.
She looked behind her, and realized the door wasn't where it should be. That is to say, there was no door where she had just left. Sure it was just a trick the dim light was playing on her, she felt around, fumbling for the knob. The wall was smooth, the dry papery texture of old wallpaper was all she could feel. She expanded her search, and had covered the entire wall section before realizing the door was actually gone, if it had been there at all.
Turning back to look down the hallway, she saw numerous doors, each closed tight. One was just a few steps in front of her, so she walked forward and looked at it. There was an elaborate decorative wood carving on it's surface; she could see some of it's detail even in the low lighting. She grasped the knob, an ornate metal lever, and twisted it. With a low squeak, the door swung open inwards, revealing it's interior. Or it would, were it not pitch black. Henrietta stepped into the room, and a flash passed through her mind. Not a flash of light, but something else. She didn't know what it was, but when it passed she opened her eyes, which had closed involuntarily.
The light was back again! And what was more, this room looked like nothing she had ever seen before. After staring at everything, she realized that was wrong. She had seen something like this before, but it was different.
The room looked perfectly normal. There was a clean linoleum flooring decorated with various stripes of coloring, and there was a long table festooned with a simple red and white tablecloth, which was surrounded by tall wooden chairs. There were various shining metal appliances decorating the edges of the room, a stove here, a refrigerator there. There was a counter connected to what she assumed was a sink, even though she couldn't see the top of the counter.
Yes it was true. She couldn't see the top of the table, the counter, the chairs, nothing. All of the objects soared high above her, dwarfing her with their massive size. A normal chair would only come up to her chest, but these she could walk under with only minor difficulty. She stepped further into the room, exploring it's mammoth proportions, and saw a small object hidden in the shadow of a chair leg. She bent down to pick it up, and saw what it was.
It was just a simple metal bowl, one you might find in any kitchen. But there were two distinguishing features about this bowl. The first was that it was fairly dented and scratched; it had obviously seen a lot of use. The second, and more noticeable feature, was that it was her size. Why would such a small bowl be in such a large room?
She decided to keep the bowl, and looked around for a door out or something else of interest. The only way out, it appeared, was the door she had already passed through. She turned to leave, and just then she heard a faint sound, so quiet to be almost inaudible. She looked around, but couldn't see anything that would have made a sound. She waited for a few moments, waiting for the sound to repeat itself, but it never did. She walked back to the door, and left the room.
Only to have the same thing happen again. The door disappeared as soon as she left the room. She looked closely at the wall where it was, but there was nothing to show there ever had been a door there. There were even some minor damage to the wallpaper in spots, a detail that was so authentic it made her doubt the door had been there at all.

All the mysteries are overwhelming =D

"she realized that was wrong." and then all the suspense after it is excellent!

So she left her old clothes behind in the room? Kind of unsatisfying...
