”Guys… please help me!”

The small girl couldn’t have been any older than five or six, long black hair held back in two braids, either arm gripped by a man, the two dragging her back. “Tell them it’s not true! Please! I’m begging you!” Her small lean body was dragged back, bare feet dragging her heels into the ground, the rocks and dirt breaking the skin. She kicked her body, screaming for help, for the five other children that stood and watched as she was taken away. Bright blue eyes stared at the five, tears lining under the lids, lips parted as she continued to cry out to the five. Yet they only watched. Staring at the men as they tied the girl to the large post. Watching as wood lined around her feet and was soon lit ablaze. The girl screamed against the binds, her head tipping back as the flames licked at her skin, darkening it, peeling it away. “No!” she screamed, “someone help me! Tell them! Tell them they made a mistake!” Her head rocked back and forth, shaking, crying out for someone to help her. Her bright blue eyes stared at the five that were watching, “help me..” she whispered, the flames soon lifting past her head.

The ties around her hair snapped, the black curling, her head tipping back as she stared at the sky. “Someone…. Please….. Help me…” she begged softly, the smoke cutting off the air. With one last breath the fires consumed her, the many others that lived in the town having gathered around the pillar to watch the girl burn. “A witch..” “She was the spawn of the dark lord.” “Now she is back in the fires that birthed her.” The town watched her burn, watched the small child that seemed as innocent as anything perish in the fires until the morning sun rose and there was nothing but ash. The five children were soon taken away from the small town, all moved to the city where they would hopefully forget what had happened.

“Hello?”

Walking down a long street, the darkness kept at it’s limits with the streetlights that basked the blonde teen that walked with a radiant light. It had been thirteen years since she and the four others had claimed their own friend as a witch in order to save themselves from the same fate. Not that any were what they were claimed to be, but in a small town filled with uneducated people, anything claimed to be evil therefore was. The girl pulled the coat tighter around her thin frame, the clicking of her long heeled shoes stopping as she did, turning around at the sound of something scraping against the concrete of the streets.

“Is anyone there?”

Standing there she flinched, watching as a wind took a large group of leaves and caused them to dance across the street, the leaves of the autumn spiraling like a small tornado. A smile crossed her lips, a hand to her chest, letting out a sigh of relief. “Just the wind…” she murmured softly, shaking her head. Turning her body she began to walk again, yet her steps were quicker, heavier, trying to get home as soon as possible.

“Rachel..”

The name was upon the wind, a whisper in the girl’s ear, causing her to freeze and turn again. Turning she froze, staring at the figure that was standing a few meters from her, a teenage female with dark hair and eyes. The girl tipped her head to the side, long dark hair falling over her shoulder, resting at her hip. A smile slipped over the girl’s lips, her foot moving, stepping closer. “Y-you’re not real..” the blonde stated, stepping back as the girl only neared her. “Oh… I’m real, Rachel, and you remember me right?” The girl’s voice was sweet, taunting, licking her lips as she moved closer. “Do you remember what you did to me? What you let them do to me?” she questioned, lifting her hand. The area around them melted, forming into that little town, the scene of the crowd pulling the small girl away was showing. Rachel’s lips were parted, watching with horror filled eyes. “This isn’t real.. This is a dream..” she muttered.

The darker haired girl laughed, “no, Rachel.. This isn’t a dream.. This is all real… and I’ve come back for my revenge.” Rachel turned and began to run then, screaming for help, the vision flickering away to give way to the real streets, the girl running fast. The laugh only followed her, Rachel screaming, panting, constantly looking behind her as she ran. But running in heels was always a horrible idea. One snapped and with a cry she fell to the ground, screaming in pain, feeling at her ankle where blood was slowly dribbling from. “Oh my god… oh my god oh my god!” she continued to murmured the soft words, her voice hitching as she whimpered softly. Her hands scraped against the ground as her gaze lifted, staring at the teen female that flashed from her state at the moment to when she was just a child and back again.

Pushing herself back Rachel whispered soft apologies, “I’m so sorry.. Delilah, I’m sorry.. I didn’t mean to.. We didn’t mean to.. Please.. Please.. I’m sorry.” The dark haired female stepped closer, reaching down, running her long fingers against the female’s cheek as she grinned. “Oh Rachel… I don’t want your apologies…” she murmured softly, the blonde swallowing hard, staring. “What do you want then?” The question caused a grin to slip over her lips, her hands resting upon the girl’s throat. “I want you to suffer like I have..”

Rachel’s eyes widened as her lips parted, blood dribbling from her lips. The dark haired female pulled her hand back, pulling the long tube that shot from her palm and into the girl’s throat with her. Straightening the tube sunk back into her hand, staring down at the blonde, the female still twitching with some life as she stared at the dark haired female. With a grin the body of the dyeing girl was soon ablaze in flames, the fires wrapping around her body, curling around her, licking at the blackening skin. And with that, the darker haired girl was gone.

“Early this morning a body of twenty year old Rachel Mathews was found. The student was walking home from her job late last night when she was attacked and burned, identified only by the identification card in her purse dropped a few feet away. Authorities have no leads-”

The television was clicked off, a male tossing the remote on the table before him, fear and sorrow in his eyes. “Rachel’s dead..” he murmured softly, speaking to himself. Grabbing the phone he dialed a familiar number, listening to the tone, waiting. When a female answered he shifted, “Rachel’s dead… we need to talk… get the others..”

Four were sitting around a table, two males, two females, sitting at a table in a coffee shop where they believed to be safe. “She’s dead..” the male stated, “burned… A few days ago she came to me. She was talking about seeing Delilah, about her wanting to get revenge.” He looked up at the others, blinking slowly, “what are we going to do?”

One of the girls shifted some, pushing her fingers through her red hair. “Me too..” she murmured softly, the eyes on her, “I’ve seen Delilah…” The girl was twisting a napkin in her hands. “I haven’t slept for two days… every time I close my eyes I see her.. And now, I still see her, with my eyes open…” The girl’s green eyes darted to the end of the café, staring at the girl with the dark hair that stood, waving her hand slowly. She had shut her eyes tightly then, pressing her palms against her eyes, shaking her head. “She’s back for us.. For what we did to her..”

The male shifted, looking at the two others that had yet to even say a word, “we’ve got to keep Angelica safe… we can’t leave her alone..” he murmured softly. Angelica stood though, shaking her head, “no Jason.. I don’t need you guys to risk yourselves. I’ll be okay… I promise.” With that she grabbed her coat, pulling it up and onto her body, stepping out of the café.

“Angelica..”

The redhead turned, staring to the darker haired female that was before her, grinning. “Watch your step..” Delilah whispered, pushing her hands forward, slamming them against Angelica’s chest. With the sound of a horn she stumbled back into the street, splattered against the front of a speeding dump truck, the three inside the shop seeing as the screams echoed from the people that had seen.

The police had everything blocked off, cleaning everything up, the same reporter from before speaking of how the girl had jumped in front of the truck. Jason was still with the other two, swallowing the lump that had formed from nothing in his throat, his gaze to the two. “She’s back… She’s come back for us.. We can’t leave each other alone..” he spoke, staring at the other two, the image of the dark haired female flickering behind him, a grin on her lips before it faded.
