I nodded. Even Emi did not know the extent of the situation that happened. It was better than nothing. It was more than I initially knew. The look on her face pulled at my heartstrings once more. I picked her up, "I said I'm going to get your wings back and that's what I'm going to do." smile
"I know... " She said not returning my gaze. "It's just... when you've had so many disappointments, it's hard to just up and believe someone." sad
"I know... but it's a promise I intend to keep until it's fulfilled or I stop breathing. Sevilen will be brought down. Magic will be restored. Okay." I said. I meant every word I said. "Emi, I owe you my life and right now, you seem to be the only one on my side." wink
She slightly smiled at that. "Yeah... that shroom looked like he wanted to eat your kneecaps." smile
smile "Probably would." I smiled back.
"I'm impressed you haven't run away again." Came the one voice I didn't want to hear at the moment.
mad "I'm not running, Kitty." I flatly said.
confused "I see that now. I'm sorry he was no help." She said. Oh that was a laugh and a half. I set Emi back down on the rail and turned to confront Kitty myself.
stressed "You're sorry that HE was no help? What about yourself? You know you haven't been exactly a welcoming sight since I saw you."
scream "ENOUGH!" Came the bellowing voice of Julius hopping up the lane. "If the both of you don't shut up, I will bit off BOTH your kneecaps."
We silenced to let him continue. "Kitty, go home. You've done enough damage as is." She began to protest but he gave her the same dirty look he gave me when I first met him. She stuffed her hands in her coat pocket and went home. "As for you young man, and lady." He said, "I'm still not going to tell you what happened just yet, but I do want to know if you honestly feel it is right you fighting with us?"
Emi and I nodded. Julius smiled. I thought his cap would crack if he did. "Then get some rest. We will start work in the morning." smile
