Well, as I'm sure is true for a few of you as well, our school has been thrown into a state of near lockdown. The doors are locked between periods and teachers and cops are guarding the doors as they are unlocked so students can get between classes for which they need to leave the main building. Students are practically escorted from class to class, and you are not to even set foot outside your classroom on your own unless you absolutely need to. These security measures seem a little too extreme. I mean, the chances of you being killed in school are very very slim, even if it happened 3 times last week. I mean, I understand they want to keep us safe, but I didn't worry about it until they put up all this security. I'm not sure how many students were killed last week, but let's just say it was 10. Take 10 out of the vast number of students in America that are in school. That's the probability that someone will come into your school and you will die as a result. This kind of thing is more likely to be a result of a deranged student or teacher, or someone who belongs in the building, so they might as well let the student body and faculty take their chances. All these cumbersome security measure are really starting to get on my nerves, and it's only been the second day since they've been enacted.
