The ground quivers as it wakes.
The mighty oaks shy away from this.
The creatures of the day burrow
deep within the night to hide from it’s horror.
Earthlings curse it, yet bless it in the same breath.
It’s poison spreads from one pole to the other,
embracing the world in a cold, deadly grasp.
It clings to the atmosphere,
while the clouds writhe and convulse from its touch.
In fear, we hide away from this monster.
And as we save ourselves, the earth is thrown to despair.
O Mother Earth, we have forsaken you so.
O Father Time, can you bring us back to Eden?
Can you return this place to it’s true nature?
These cries are not heard, for they are far too placid.
We live deep inside ourselves,
clinging to this egotistical realm.

Well, as the title states, this poem is about pollution.
I'm not quite sure why I decided to write a poem about pollution, but I did.
So here it is!
