The noise, it angers me.
It fills my ears and drowns my mind.
Nothing makes sense to me now,
All I know of is the static words
You and all speak fiercely,
As you spit down in my face and my identity,
Eyes boiling with hatred and disgust.
It almost makes me laugh at how helplessly you try,
If only I wasn’t remembered of how helpless I, myself, am.
The words, your words, they try to shape the way I am,
Perfect me, Make me into someone different.
But don’t I have a right to be my own?
Can’t I be myself? …Even if I stand out,
Even if you are not pleased with whom I am?
Why must I be forced to chase your wishes, your dreams…
This is my life, try and prove me wrong.
Then again, aren’t we all just human?
Hunting to be the best and greatest,
Stepping over others, and frowning upon
Those who aren’t like the rest?
Then again, we are just human.
Some say we're dying,
Others live life wide open
And strive for happiness through simply living.
We don't have to play these usless games.
So why do we choose to?
