• The Constant Companion…

    Every minute,
    of every day.
    Like a bill,
    You will not pay.

    It just builds,
    And builds some more,
    Till the problems,
    Knock at your door.

    The shadow of stress,
    Is always there,
    Biting on nails,
    pulling out hair.

    You try to relax,
    but always it comes,
    Back to your mind,
    like loud banging drums.

    Your hands start to shake,
    Your teeth start to chatter,
    You try to calm down,
But your heart begins to patter.

    Tensing all up,
    Will the moment arrive?
    Then it’s your turn,
    Will you survive?

    You stare at the words,
    Written in book,
    But tongue doesn’t move,
    Your given a look.

    You here some remarks,
Your peers like to make fun,
    But passed over, you are,
    Someone else has begun.

    Shortly later it’s done,
    The bell has just rung.
    You’re on to the next,
    Grand Trial to be hung.
