• Storm

    Lightning dashes swiftly by,
    Flashing through the rain.
While Thunder peals across the sky,
    Reverberating the window pane.

The pitter patter upon the ground,
    Is everlasting through the night.
She drowns out the world with deafening sound,
While quelling Thunder and Lightning's fight.

At first the sound and light,
Stay far apart within the sky.
All of it due to Rain's fierce might,
    Neither side asking, "Apart, Why?"

But not even Rain can stop the clash,
The only fight she can't prevent.
Where Lightning and Thunder equally bash,
    creating a frightening event.

The land below trembles with fear,
as the combatants fight to the death.
How can the winner not be clear?
What is the answer to this ravaging test?

Then Lady Wind comes into play,
    Her referee whistle blowing.
So that Thunder and Lightning do not stay,
Running so fast and never slowing.

    They dash far away,
    Their troubles are gone.
    Erased in the flay,
    To reveal the dawn.

The Queen of the sky flutters her lids,
As her golden fingers reach out.
The creatures below which are her kids,
Give out a cry, a glorious shout.

    For the sun is here,
    Neither side has won.
    She chases away fear,
    The fight forever done.
