Delicious Death
the water is boiling;
his life is a shipwreck
its lost in the waves of misery
he cant comprehend why he is here
just another unwanted addition to this world
like a broken lamp that's left in the corner of the attic
his mind is foredoomed in this boisterous hurricane
an abundance of thoughts and feelings fluttering in his head
this is a butterfly, he cant get a hold of
he is losing his grip, for the rope
is only so strong
he tosses a couple of tea bags;
hope and faith are anonymous to his universe
for they have packed their suitcases and have elevated
to a different planet, and he is struggling to pull the weight
of the heavy burden on his flimsy shoulders
he is wobbling his way through a path he cannot
seem to find an end to, the light is here,
but there is no bridge for him to cross
how he prays for the red light to finally come
so his soul can at last go to lunch
and have a plate full of endless breaths
no more will he have to worry
sugar always makes it better;
how did life go from gratifying to be so wicked?
its as if hes being punished for something he didn't do
his heart is imprisoned, he doesn't know how to act
its shiny sword isn't so radiant anymore
like a pair of dull scissors no one wants to use
he needs someone to talk to, that will understand
because his brain has stopped in its tracks
its train is no longer in service
it is awaiting its replacement
red is making its way across;
he feels so numb, so weak
not even glass could make him twinge
its like the blood is being sucked
back out from his veins, his spirit is unresponsive,
its been kidnapped and locked in a murky cellar
the lost posters are being found, but not cared for
it makes him so enraged, he feels like
whacking his heart with a baseball bat
to make the beat flow through his body again
he pours some in a cup;
when will this battle of anguish end?
When will he capture the butterfly?
He opens a cupboard to grab some ginger
his eye catches a tall Grey bottle, takes it out
from the chalky brown shelf, the label reads rat poison
he bites his lower lip in temptation, this has to be the answer
the only way to finish the rivalry once and for all
he tips it over and puts a few drops in his cup
hes been through enough pain, enough damage
and without a thought, without a feeling
he swallows his delicious death in a single gulp
