RAVEN ON A LAMP POST
my glasses picked you out on the street lamp post
and I wondered whether you were a crow or a hawk
an eagle would have been proud to see your stance...
the way you held your regal head with poise
the way you watched my well considered walk
I would have guessed an osprey taking a chance
its silhouette dark... black before the sun...
with no sight of a fish thus far in the parking lot
my eyes then found themselves where a raven scolds
god fearing men for daring to think her one
my reason gone, my sanity awash, my memory lost
a daydream grants me a sight too much to behold...
but caw, caw, cawing you mark me a foolish bird
and mock me, my command to eagle be, left unheard.

Wow!
You got all of that from raven.
Haha, I've never seen a real raven, just crows.
