There was once a time
Where a girls twisted love
Was filled with different faces
And tears to the brim
It lasted too long
She thought she would break
Till another lost soul
Saved her from fate
That Soul took her in
With broken heart and wings
And mended her completely
From without and within
That Soul saved her life
But the girl never knew
That the Soul that saved her life
Needed mending, too
That girl took advantage
Of all the love and energy
That that lonely Soul
Had to offer
Without a care at her feet
The girl flew high
Leaving that lonely Soul
On the cold ground
Many years pass
And the girl still didn't see
That the Soul was breaking
And was going to die
Till one day
That Soul did break
And the girl was devistated
That she had done this
The girl tended to that Soul
Day and night
Hoping to show compassion
And that she did indeed care
But that Soul didn't believe her
After all that girl did
Why should the lonely Soul
Believe the girl?
Try as she could
The girl couldn't replace
All the times she took
Advantage of the lonely Soul
The girl was bad at comforting
She had no idea how to make the Soul happy
She failed at everything she tried
And the Soul only got weaker
Then, one day, she had an idea
She decided to try and show how much
She appreciated the Soul with a
Bunch of flowers
Of course the Soul was thrilled, but
Eventually, the flowers wilted and
Died, and the Soul became weak
Once more
The girl then came up with another
Idea, she'd get a ring
The Soul was so happy it cried,
But the Ring fell off and shattered
The Soul became weaker
The girl didn't know what to do
If flowers and jewelry didn't work
What would?
She decided to ask the Soul:
"What makes you happy?" Asked the girl
The Soul only looked at her with
Tired eyes
"You, of course."
"But I'm right here, and it's
Obviously not working if you're
Still weak." The girl was very
Confused.
The Soul could onyl close it's
eyes and sigh softly.
"You will never understand until
You walk in my shoes."
So the girl tried on the Soul's shoes
She didn't feel any different.
"This doesn't make any sense."
She said.
"Of course not, silly girl." The Soul spoke.
"You must live how I have lived."
The girl thought about it.
"How have you lived?"
"I have lost many close people.
I have visited Rainbow rivers.
I have lost and gained
Many close feelings."
"Well, I have never lost anyone close,
But I'm sorry for your losses.
I have never heard of such rivers,
But they must have been beautiful..."
The girl looked sadly at the ground.
"But, the last one I have felt.
I'm sorry you have to lose
And gain so many feelings."
The Soul sighed wearily.
"There is nothing you can do,
But move on and look ahead."
The Soul closed it's tired eyes.
The girl stood by that Soul's side
Through everything.
Proving that she was at least
Doing one thing right.
That Soul was her savior,
Her protector, and her Lover.
She didn't prove her worth,
But she managed to keep her Soul close.
She stayed by that Soul
Till her last dying breath
On which she whispered
Something never spoken:
"I may have been a fool,
And didn't see, but I tried
And moved forward...You still stuck with me
Even though I was a fool...why?"
She never got an answer.
