• She wanders through the eerie night
    Un-protected from dark shadows’ fright

    The piercing howling from things unknown
    Filled nights air with a deafening drone

    Twigs snap beneath her graceful feet
    The perfect sound of drumming beat

    Each one resonates through the air
    So she places each foot with extra care

    She looks upwards, into the great eye
    And follows his gaze from the sky

    To her place of sanctuary, and of rest
    A place of wisdom, her private nest

    She reaches it with a sigh of disbelief
    The place filled her with glorious relief

    She settles in the velvet ground
    And closes her eyes without a sound

    The howling stopped, the danger gone
    Replaced with a silent song

    The girl lifts up a mug of gold
    And feels the warmth amidst nights’ cold

    She takes a sip from her mug of light
    A taste of light on this dark night
