I see it in the daytime
The way the grass moves in the wind
The look of stone walls
Paintings people leave behind
When watching colors
The sickle stands silent, seared inside
The hammer holds me still
I buried my soul in Pripyat
From it, my dreams can never escape
- Title: A Poem for Pripyat
- Artist: Ferregar

Description:
To those who do not know, Pripyat was the engineering town located a few kilometers away from Chernobyl, the sight of mankind's worse disaster. It was "The City of the Future," and a place of opportunity unlike any other in the Soviet Union.
I dedicate this piece to Pripyat's people; 43,000 men, women and children who were told to leave their lives and never return. Their dreams still haunt their city, and will never be forgotten. - Date: 07/17/2009
