One-way ride on the railroad tracks
Wearing tinted shades that only fade to black when it's
Already raining, out of doors:
The words seep in through the ceilings, and
Hit the floors (Dead to the world)
Like bullets from the sky (Dead to the world)
Can't talk in lies (It could kill the world)
So they stop --
to spread falsehoods through their eyes
My moods swing on chains
That hang from the ceiling
Hard and heavy,
to bind what I'm feeling
If you don't like the feel
Of what you see --
Journey back through the cars, and just feel free
(To step outside)
Be careful when you jump --
'Cause you won't enjoy the ride..
Back to cardboard cutouts
of pale sunbeams
And the thread-thin tears
That they hide in the seams
Of time.
