• I Am the Sword
    By: M.C. Nickel

    I am The Sword!
    Use me in battle,
    Carry me at home,
    I can offer safety,
As I did in ancient Rome.

    For I am a protector,
    That is what I am,
    But soon you will see,
My protection is but a sham.

For as you use my ancient blade,
    A problem you will perceive,
You will lust for more blood
    And prey it from humanity.

For I am The Sword! Fear my power!
I shall slay all you hold dear,
    Upon this horrid hour.

    Wield me! Use me!
    Your enemies will perish,
As you give them my steel kiss,
And I will eat their blood,
    With my metal lips.

    For I am the Sword!
You have heard of my strength!
To harness my power, men have gone to great lengths,
But even they, haven’t supplied my need,
Of pain, sorrow, and blood I need to feed!

For everyone who picks me up, as you can see,
Has obtained nothing but death and misery!

    For I am the Sword!
Do you think you can use me so?
You think you can control me?
And tell me what to do?
Fool! In the end I will show you!
    For I am the Sword!
