The idea of a gap filled smile
of some small child with a halo of wispy hair
and sticky fingers holding up a picture they proudly crayoned in
depicting the child and their family holding hands.
Of praising the small child.
That is beauty in it's most innocent of forms.
Round yellow bees buzzing through their business,
stopping at the trumpeting flowers
in their suits of jewel like hues.
Of buzzing away again to return to the hive
and creating the smooth golden honey that is so sought after.
That is beauty in it's most simplistic of forms.
The silent grief of the black clad people
surrounding a wooden coffin with a gleaming finish,
heads dutifully bowed.
Daring not to look that the serene features
of their beloved whose clear bright eyes will remain forever shuttered.
That is beauty in it's most somber of forms.
The azure sky with fluffy white clouds
the day ringing with gunshot and pain.
That is the most gruesome and misunderstood beauty.
The courage of men being the most valiant.
It is everything and at the same time nothing.
Beauty is...

Description:
This is a poem I wrote for school, then entered in a contest, and now it's won that and is going on to the next level. What does the Gaians think, I wonder?
