These two tears fell from my eyes
like raindrops through our leaking roof
the day you left.
These two tears sparkled
like the diamonds you once gave me
that were only cut glass.
These two tears fell to the floor
like my hand fell to your arm
begging to be taken back.
And these two tears,
like the many which followed,
are all that remain of what we were.
