-
I am the sea, the waves, the ripples.
The beauty of the azure
that captures my eyes.
I watch.
My life above the waves
is as the life below.
As fleetingly fast as a school of fish
whose silver scales flash
the beacon of reality,
As melodic as the whales song,
And as captivating as the reflections upon it's glass.
I smile as the day fades away
as my cares go with it.
I am surrounded by silence
hearing only the gentle breeze play on the leaves,
the waves on the rocks, many feet below me.
I dive.
Freedom captures me and drags me
into its greedy depths,
the water rushes to meet me like an old friend.
I break its indigo tides,
the froth surrounding my face as it surfaces
as a halo would on an angel.
I stare up.
The moon, the stars and the paths of the universe stare back.
The moon ripples on the water
as a pearl on velvet,
the stars tip each white-capped wave.
All is peaceful now.
But...
something stirs inside me
and the sought after peace is shattered.
The water turns as black as oil.
The sky is darkened by clouds
as cold as the human heart.
The anger, the torment and the loneliness
rush back in waves
as unwanted as the rain.
But they both return.
The wind howls my tale,
the creatures of the waters sing my sorrow.
The stubborn waters turn into a murky hell.
The moon hides, ashamed of it's mirror.
The water, wind and clouds pummel me
with a painful greeting.
The stars, soldiers appear to be losing their war,
thunders crashes
lightning flashes, but then,
all goes quiet.
It is over.
The clear night happily returns
followed by the pearlesque moon
and it's twinkling friends.
Sadly the sun comes,
the moon shines its goodbye
and the stars twinkle their bid of farewell,
save the morning star
my Guardian.
The indigo waves release their light
and slowly turn to blue and turquoise, and then a crystalline aqua.
I walk out of the water
in time to see
the reds, oranges and yellows of the sunrise.
The birds sing their hello to a new day, a new beginning.
The almost opaque water laps at my toes.
My anger dies as the world blooms before me.
As does my future.
Though it shall change,
and move and go on with it's ups and downs,
it shall always share its secrets
with the changing of the tides.
