• There is this image resting in my mind,
Of stars glowing like a million fireflies,
The open heath in dusk's descent,
We watch the planets fall into place.

I lay my head on your heart and stared,
A thousand lights to illuminate the dark,
We counted the satellites as the earth spun,
We counted the days we'd been as one.

It was dark on the long drive home,
The road, it turned forever and on.

The memory serves us some serenity,
Because we know we've seen true beauty,
And no poet or songwriter could ever describe,
The sheer perfection we had seen that night,
Nor me as I struggle to string together words.
