As the water waves across my face, I hear children playing in the far distance. Catch me if you can one of them says while running into the sand.
I keep my head in the book I read. Only I am not paying attention to what it is saying, but to my love, to my thoughts, and to my own child.
She sits there with her golden locks smiling up to me, her mother.
The gaze she gives to the water, and the other children. Patting her shovel onto the ground with a laugh.
I then wake to my realization of a dream.
