• I once would often gaze to the sky;
    Now the stars filling the black abyss
    Begin to blur, the years take away my visions
    Of the brilliant lights that once brought me to bliss.

    I once would imagine, spend hours at my desk
    Drawing what I hoped would be out there above,
    But the years take away my wonder
    Surrounding the lights that the galaxy was made of.

    I once would hope I could gaze down to Earth
    From far up there, far from anything it would seem,
    Then the years brought me experience
    To forget what had been by only dream.

    I once would dream of great endeavors,
    Now the idea seems childish, and the hope brought pain,
    The years take away my only successes,
    Now only a broken man remains.
