I built a statue of you today,
And in it, I used some cement.
Because much like cement,
You'll always stay.

I built a statue of you today,
And in it, I used some clay.
Because much like you,
You'll never go away.

I built a statue of you today,
And in it I used some iron.
Because iron is just like our friendship,
It will never dacay.

Alas, still not enough of my heart's rejoice,
cast and forged inside like my soul,
greatness that changed our human growth,
stronger, beautiful and refined,
like our friendship, it will never decay.

I built a statue of you today,
my fingers dipped into a slumber scent of false stone,
with what houses our lives in strength,
what we call family, like you, will always stay.

But that can't be enough to build what I felt,
longing back ages, the texture of earth,
the need to build strong to protect more than hay,
to make it last longer, like you, to remain.
