Aizen and Gin enter the 'between' world, Isshin talks some sense into Ichigo, a great guardian creature is destroyed, and what's this?
A little nostalgia--Keigo seems to be in a bit of a predicament.
Gin's gateway takes he and Aizen first into the 'Precipice World'; but they are not alone. That huge monster, one that we've seen pop up before--Koutotsu--is with them...but not for long. Even as Gin tries to discourage him, Aizen faces Koutotsu without a flinch, and promptly seems to disintegrate him without even lifting a finger.
Following this, he questions Gin about what he is afraid of.
"Reason
Exists for those who cannot go on living without clinging to it.
Now,
Let's go.
To the edge of Reason."
On that strange little note, they exit that realm into the still-dormant Karakura Town.
Suddenly we jump back to Ichigo and Isshin--who headbutts his son with a shout of
"DIDN'T YOU HEAR ME?!
I SAID
WE'RE GONNA PROTECT KARAKURA TOWN!"
Ichigo is still making excuses however. He believes it's impossible, saying that there's no way they can beat Aizen and his reiatsu.
But something happens for a moment; Isshin seems caught off guard.
"Oh.
So you really don't understand his reiatsu..."
Ichigo looks as confused as I was reading it, but with a reminder of what's at stake from his father, he's convinced to go--remember, everyone from Karakura Town IS STILL THERE. Tatsuki, Yuzu&Karin, Keigo, Mizuiro, Chizuru...
And they open a senkai gate.
Gin and Aizen apparently have come out at a wrong spot. Gin quickly covers this--saying it was because of Aizen's little 'detour' with Koutotsu--to which Aizen actually apologizes.
Aizen. Apologizes.
. . .what.
Then we're back to Isshin and Ichigo, who've arrived in the 'Precipice Realm', but Isshin's confused about Koutotsu being gone. However, he says it's convenient that he's gone for now, because:
"This 'Precipice World' is just as it sounds.
It's a place cut off from time and space,
Severed from both Soul Society and the Material World.
Therefore
Koutotsu exists to keep people from staying here for long periods of time."
Isshin's glad for this absence just for a little bit--so that he can teach Ichigo something new.
The Final Getsuga Tenshou.
And our chapter ends with a view of the streets of Karakura Town, it's members lying asleep or unconscious on the sidewalk.
Except for one Keigo Asano, who is waking up just in time for Aizen and Gin to be approaching Karakura Town.
